PX Sunmake Cultures Foundation’s Traditional Architectural Restoration Project

To preserve and sustain the profound cultural and artistic value embodied in the park’s traditional architecture, the PX Sunmake Cultures Foundation has initiated the Traditional Architectural Restoration Project. By conducting surveys of structural conditions and identifying damages, the foundation engages skilled craftsmen specializing in restoration to work on-site. All projects are carried out in accordance with traditional construction methods, ensuring that the authentic appearance of these heritage buildings is maintained.
This approach not only safeguards architectural integrity but also allows visitors to closely observe the intricate craftsmanship of restoration. In doing so, the project fosters the continuation of artisanal traditions and promotes appreciation for the aesthetics of traditional architecture.

|Traditional Craftsmanship in Architectural Restoration|
The restoration of traditional architecture involves a wide range of specialized crafts to ensure that historic structures are preserved with their original techniques and structural integrity. With the growing importance of cultural preservation, these traditional skills continue to play a vital role in safeguarding and revitalizing heritage buildings.
The artisans responsible for these works are formally known as “Sifu” (司阜)—highly respected masters who preserve and transmit architectural heritage. With their refined skills and decades of experience, they create architectural works of enduring historical and artistic value.
