Light a Wish Lantern Ceremony at Wenchang Temple

Step1 Purchase a safety blessing packet at Wenchang Temple.

Step2 Fill out your prayer document and perform the light a wish lantern ceremony.

Step3 After the ceremony, walk around the incense burner three times clockwise while holding the prayer packet.

Step4 Submit your prayer document to the temple staff for cremation to complete the blessing process.

Note: Ceremony fee is NT$250 (includes prayer packet and light a wish lantern ceremony). Tickets for entrance to the park are required.

Returning a Blessing Ceremony

Step1 Ask the Wenchang Temple staff for the returning blessing document and small card. After filling them out, pray to Lord Wenchang and recite the prayer.

Step2 After the prayer, hang the small card on the "Golden List(金榜)" at Wenchang Temple.

Step3 Submit the returning blessing document to the temple staff for cremation to complete the blessing process.

Note: Free of charge, but you must bring your own offerings. Tickets for entrance to the park are required.

Pet's Light a Wish Lantern Ceremony

Ceremony time: 10:00-17:00

Contents: Prayer document, Light a Wish Lantern, safety charm, and Wenchang Temple’s pet-specific blessing water.

Blessing process:

Step1 Purchase the pet blessing packet at Wenchang Temple.

Step2 Fill out the pet blessing document and perform the pet's Light a Wish Lantern ceremony.

Step3 After the ceremony, walk around the incense burner three times clockwise with the blessing packet.

Step4 To complete the blessing process, submit your pet’s blessing document to the temple staff for cremation.

Note: NT$150 per ceremony (original price NT$250).

Online Light a Wish Lantern Ceremony

Step1 Book and pay via Klook, fill in the required details for the prayer document, and complete the registration.（click to book）

Step2 Orders submitted before Thursday each week will be fulfilled with a ceremony conducted the following Monday by the officiant of Wenchang Temple.

Step3 The officiant at Wenchang Temple will burn incense and solemnly recite the prayer document on your behalf, offering prayers to fulfill your wishes. The Eternal Flame(長明燈) will then be used to light the Heart Lamp(心燈).

Step4 The officiant will pass a safety blessing packet and a bottle of Wenchang Blessing Water from NCFTA over the incense burner, symbolizing the conveyance of Lord Wenchang’s blessings to you.

Step5 Wenchang Temple will mail the Lord Wenchang–blessed safety blessing packet and Wenchang Blessing Water to you within seven working days.

Note: The ceremony fee is NT$388 (which includes the safety blessing packet, Heart Lamp lighting ceremony, Wenchang Blessing Water, and shipping).
